If you are looking for a character home, then you need to get in touch with the best estate agents Hull has to offer.
There are a wide range of architectural types in the area we cover, and some people come to us wanting a home with a little bit more character than average.
An example of the impressive local architecture on offer is in the form of the lodge house in east Hull. Unfortunately we aren’t in charge of selling it, as it is a council building, the local council is currently taking bids.
Local people have been thrilled the building, which has stood empty for 9 years, but is now on the market. The old park ranger's house at East Park has been vacant since 2008, and is in need of significant refurbishment. It also needs the gardens being kept in check as the greenery growing outside has almost obscured the building from view.
The local council took the decision to try to sell the property last month, and Cllr Chaytor told the Hull Mail he was pleased with the decision:
"We want to see the building brought back into use at the earliest opportunity and for it to be a great asset to the community again.
"The process of selling it will be a rigorous one. What the council will be looking at is how the building can be best possibly used and also at the potential for community involvement as well,” he said.
There have been over 50 bids and 15 people have been to see the property, the paper reported.
