There’s no denying that moving house is very stressful but just what exactly is it that stresses us all out so much when moving from A to B? Interestingly, new research has just revealed that WiFi access appears to be more problematic for people than access to childcare!
The MoneySuperMarket study found that 40 per cent consider a lack of a working kitchen to be an irritation, while 37 per cent consider weak phone signal to be a really stressful aspect of relocating. Finding out what the neighbours are like is also an issue for some.
Consumer affairs expert with the price comparison site Kevin Pratt said: “What motivates us when moving house has changed a lot from previous generations. Whereas childcare and having a good working kitchen were priorities in years gone by, being well connected to the internet is now one of the most important things home movers look for.”
To keep your house move as stress-free as possible, it pays to be prepared! Make sure you hire a reliable conveyancing solicitor so they can deal with all legal aspects of the move on your behalf. You should also set yourself out a realistic budget so you know you’ve covered all important costs.
From there, make sure you’ve set yourself more than enough time to get everything ready for the big move and then to make the move itself. If you run out of time and find yourself rushing, your stress levels are sure to increase exponentially… and you could end up forgetting something very important, just because you weren’t as prepared as you could have been.
